Opinions on this bike
Hey guys, just got into a fixies after riding my friends bike. It was an amazing experience and I am looking for a faster way of transport. Anyways, my birthday just passed and I managed to obtain 250$, I found a good deal on craigslist for the windsor hour, my friend told me it's a good bike as his brother used to own one. Anyways the bike is stock except the saddle and crank, the ad is asking for 250$ The bike size is a 54" so its perfect for me, I just need some expert advice on whether I should get it or not. I also really like the color, as white and black really suits me.
Should I get the bike? I'll be riding daily, from school and to various places, as I am still new to the fixie scene. I will be adding more parts later on and replacing the wheelset when I get the money, but for now I think the bike looks really nice as it is now, although I've heard bad things about the fork, I am not really sure if its true or not. Heres a picture of the bike and thanks for the help :thumb: http://i37.tinypic.com/im5kyd.jpg http://s590.photobucket.com/albums/s...t=PICT0053.jpg |
You can buy one new for $300 at bikesdirect.com
Solid bike though. EDIT: NM, looks like they're sold out. See if you can get lower than $250. |
It was 279$ yesterday, I think the seller lowered the price today, I am close to purchasing it tho.

it is a solid bike for what you are looking to use it for. one of my good friend rides one and hasn't had any complaints thus far. i agree with Yo!, buy one from bikesdirect.com. i would definitely pay $50 more to have brand new
edit-just saw Yo!'s edit, i would still wait for a new one,but thats just me. |
Good price, but you're going to want to add a brake.

buy a new one from bikesdirect or ask him to lower the price.
that ain't worth 250 |
I mean, if the kid has $250 and the guy will include the brake. It's a good deal, considering that bike looks barely ridden. The guy probably bought it rode it 3 times and let it sit for a few months then decided to get rid of it to make room for whatever new trend he wanted to invest in. It looks barely ridden, so if you have $250, want a newish road bike, can't wait/can't spend $300, I'd say go for it.

meh, i suppose. i'd still talk him down since it's basically all stock too.
|
i got my kilo new for $250, but pull the trigger.

whatever bike you buy for the love of god put a brake on it. Brakeless is fun, but not when you can't control your bike and your going 25 mph down a hill
|
I would show up with two c notes...cash talk bs walks. Most people will settle when they see cash...
