Well they didn't quite do it...they forgot to replace the stuff as it breaks

The old tool set should give you an idea of what tools you really need, and which ones have to be durable...it will also provide you with junky versions of the tools you rarely need that probably won;t break/wear out for a while since you never use them.

Buying a new complete set is just going to get you another full set, completely with the tools you never use (like a freewheel tool for a type of freewheel you don't own). If you replace (and add missing items) along the way, you will be set.

well now you're making me wonder, I thought I had convinced myself I needed ak37. Working with crappy tools, having them break, and buying tools twice will kind of annoy me. One of the reviewers said some of the stuff is slightly off on sizing on the $33 kit. Plus I checked the shipping on it and it's $16, versus free. So the Park set is $170 more. How many tool replacements would I have to make to reach that $170, while suffering with s*** tools? Hmm..

This is what I bought. I still had to use some of my previous tools but I am loving the kit so far.

The 3 you posted don't look that great, esp the middle one for $197, I would just get park for $220 instead.

Here are a couple more kits to throw into the pile, which don't look too bad, Sette Torx brand
37pc for $140: http://www.pricepoint.com/detail/182...--37-Tools.htm
41pc for $160: http://www.pricepoint.com/detail/182...--41-Tools.htm

(and their lower end kits:
32pc for $120: http://www.pricepoint.com/detail/145...--32-Tools.htm
21pc for $47: http://www.pricepoint.com/detail/145...--21-Tools.htm )

vigilanthony 10-23-09 02:59 AM

wow preston811 that's a sweet breakdown you did of those two kits. I've been looking for a kit myself and that helps out a lot. Thanks man.

yokotas13 10-23-09 03:14 AM

Next month Park is adding the EK-1, or Event Kit. I love the attache case over the box or the backpack. I hope that it debuts at an "introductory" price.
