Chrome Kirov?
Anyone rocking one? I have been looking at it for a while, and as long as I can remember it was marked "Sold Out." I took that for "not out yet. I found a review on Wired (http://www.wired.com/gadgets/gadgetr...=2&slideView=2), pretty favorable, and i found it for sale here:http://peregrinecyclery.com/product_...oducts_id=3968
listed "Ships 24-48 hours." I read it doesn't have the laptop sleeve like the Warsaw (i love that bag), but all in all looks the same with smaller dimensions. Which is what I am looking for. Got a R.E. Load Deluxe Messenger 6 months ago, but it is a little big for everyday life, and messenger bags are taking a toll on me. Need a good back pack and I keep coming back to the Warsaw, but I don't need it that big for a hat, hoody, lunch and other misc thing i need to carry to the office. so if anyone is rocking one how do you like it? got ant pics of teh bags pockets? whats the capacity on it? |
The best bag ever man.

Why did Chrome remove the Cubic Inches from the specs on their new site? Other than that, the new site is great.
And the Kirov also differs in the fact that it has compression straps, but they are different from those on the Warsaw and Backbone. The ones on the Warsaw and Backbone can be used to strap large parcels under the front flap. (I have a Backbone, btw, and haven't been in a store that stocks Kirovs or Warsaws so all this is based off of the pictures on Chrome's site.) If all you need is a lunch, hat, hoodie, and bike stuff (pump, patch kit, tube, blinky) you should check out the Dually. I want one for days that I don't need my para-sail (aka Backbone). If you ever need to carry a laptop and have a 13" Macbook or thereabouts it should fit. I have a 15" and I don't know if it would fit in the Dually, but it fits in a Ranchero. |

some times i carry my laptop, a 17" macbook pro. and from time to time i carry video equipment. so i do need a little extra space for the days when something comes up.
*When I visualize "video gear" I think of a GL-2 in its case and a tripod, minimum, along with extra DV tapes and the power adapter. Depending on the camera you might need more or less room. |

I expect that a 17" MBP would fit in a Ranchero, but you'd be best getting something with a lot more room for hauling video gear* around. Depending on the size, the Kirov might be what you need.

Wow that's more like an XL-2S, in which case I'd go for the biggest bag you can get. And based off the pictures on the Wired site, my Backbone looks much bigger than the Kirov. That's not to say that the Kirov couldn't fit everything, though.
and you wouldn't believe the pile of crap i pulled out of my bag today. god knows how long i have been carrying and extra 10 lbs of junk! a bit of an over exaggeration, but only by a little but. my bag was much lighter on my way to work today. |
interesting. i was going to pull the trigger, but the site is now out of stock in the bag.
edit: not out until December. Chrome via emailed me back. |
