Newbie buying a Fixie, needs sizing help!
 

Just as the title says, I need some sizing help.....

Im looking to purchase a Fixed Gear Bike for the first time within the next 1-2 months.....

I got my eyes set on a Mercier Kilo TT

firstly, you can see the kilo's geometry here. i'd say either the 53 or the 55 c-c. if you want, go to your LBS and stand over some straight top-tube bikes, either road bikes or fixed gears. If you can stand over it with your feet flat on the ground without the top tube crushing your manhood (an inch or two of clearance), then it's generally a good fit.

I am 6'1" and the 57cm is just right with a stand over height of 33". About 1.5" of clearance for the fohoison and knicky nacks.

dude go do any of the numerous online fit calcs. this one seems pretty good, or there are much simpler ones around. bike fit is kinda more about reach than inseam (you've given neither). I'm 5'11 but my inseam is just over 34" so i think I'm kinda leggy. All that said, I was looking at a 55cm Kilo TT before I decided on something else altogether. (they run small, it says on their page that a 55cm (measured c-c) fits like a 58 (measured c-t)). You can also go ride LBS bikes then check their numbers online against the kilo's.

If you want a bike to fit then you'll want to be fitted. That means going to a lbs, being put on a tarantula and sized. You will be charged a modest fee for this service. It will cost less than a replacement stem and you'll have correct information that will apply to this purchase and any other bicycle in the future. It is really difficult to spend better money.
