Mercier Kilo TT size help

Hello,

I am looking at those Kilo TT's but I can't decide which size to pick. I am 5'7" and skinny. I am thinking a 53cm would fit, but I can't be sure. I would like some advice before I make the online purchase. The standover of a 53cm is 30.9 inches. Does anyone ride a 53cm Kilo with my height? I have normal legs and arms (I mean not shorter for my body structure).
Thanks!

I have a 53 and am 5'7". I have an inch or two of clearance and the bike fits me perfectly, but I have long legs and am a girl. I can't really imagine a guy with my inseam being comfortable with the amount of clearance on the top tube.

I have a 53 and I'm 5'10, with a 90mm stem. Shortish torso and average arms. It's got a long-ass top tube for such a small (at least in name) frame. Depending on how long your arms and torso are, I'd consider going for the 50.

I'm 5'8" and ride a 53... its definitely on the big side but I like it. I have a 90mm stem and some 125s on mine so reach isn't really an issue. I don't think I could comfortably ride with bullhorns though; like on the bullhorns unless I was sprinting. Got about half inch of space from the package too which is a little close for comfort but obviously I spend all my time riding it not standing over the damn thing.

So the 53 has a 53 cm measure from the bb to the seat stem?? that seems so small for somebody that tall? Is the seat way up? I'm six feet tall, and can't decide between the 53 and 57...its an big jump. What do you all think??

I'm 6'0" and am riding a 57 kilott. Fits pretty good. Got about an inch between the toptube and my jewels when standing over it. I probably have average to long legs and arms, but I don't know what length should put me in what category. I also wear a size 11 shoe and have the smallest of toe overlap.
For those of you who haven't already checked out the "Mercier Picture thread", please do so, there is a chock full of info there. And, yes, i know there are alot of pages, and some useless threads in there, but just take the time to go thru it, and i'm sure you'll find answers to your questions about this bike.

This is a correct statement.

I'm 5'7 and I have a 50cm. Perfect.

I am a little incredulous that you 5'7" people are squeezing onto 50cm bikes, when I am 5'4" and ride a 50-52cm. And I've never considered myself to be long-legged or anything.

I was curious and went and looked at the Geo, I'm 5'8" - 5'9" and looking at the TT of the kilo I'd ride a 50 with a 100-105mm stem probably. For ref in Trek road bikes I'd ride a 54. The Kilo just has a really long top tube.

Go with the 50cm. I just had a friend same size as you on my 53cm and it was a tad too big for him. Mercier Kilo run big.

The 53cm has a 55cm top tube.

I'm 5'5" and I got the 50 and I have absolutely no standover, I had to stand on the tips of my toes just to be able to clear the bike...

Needless to say I sold it and got a smaller size, which comes in today.

I am 5'8" and have a 53cm Kilo TT. However, it might not fit you. We are different people, with different bodies, and I don't know what your body is like. My suggestion is to go to your LBS and ask their advice on what the best bike size is for you. They'll probably let you sit on a few and even try them out. Then you can buy your Kilo with confidence.
