Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Yeah. To steal it you'd need bolt cutters or a chain tool, so it offers some protection against your average crackhead stealing saddles equipped only with a set of allen keys.

I replaced my saddle's hex bolt with a torx bolt. I figure the average seat stealing idiot is a lot less likely to carry around torx wrenches.

I have a set in my Harley saddlebags. Not that I'd ride it around stealing seats. It's hardly the stealth vehicle anyway.

I feel like you could break a bike chain with just a little leverage.

I guess I'm due for an update:

Van Dessel Cross Rig:

Gearing is different now (smaller chainring), and it's a lot dirtier.

In action (SS Cross is really really really uncompetitive against geared cross bikes, FYI):

The Track Pro (Miki):

Action shot (with drops/Miche/Araya tubies):

Need to update the track pro pics with new disc/new trispoke one of these days when I get it printed.

The trick is to use the white color for your text. Then you can type **** all day and not take away from the beauty of the bike porn. Wow, the new version of vbulletin sucks donkey balls. Hmm, the text just keeps on going and going. Doesn't it know to wrap around and not just keep pushing the window ever further out? Wow, what a ******.

I've never understood the appeal of white saddles.

Believe it or not, some people commonly wear white shoes too.

It's strange...a month or two ago they were everywhere for around 50 bucks. I bought one but ended up getting a Regal and liking it better so I sold my Turbo to a friend.

I wear white shoes for work (dress code in the hospital). Doesn't mean I have to like them.
