Thanks for the comments guys. |
I had a pake frame for about three weeks. They are pretty nice for the price. ride is pretty smooth and the handling is a good mixture of track and road. lots of fun.
The purple is great. |
This is track only right?
|
No, the frame is drilled for a fork and the lugged fork that came with this set is also drilled. This will be my second Pake. I was able to get my forst one under 20 lbs with deep v's. Im a little interested in seeing how light this one comes out to. I loved the way it felt. By far the best bang for the buck frame iv ever owned.
|
I was wondering bc you've got sew ups on your build list. Sure you want to run tubulars for street riding?

So to answer your question, yes, I will be ridding these on the road. |

"Iv ridden tubulars for a little bit now and the ride quality is so much nicer than that of clinchers."
How so? |
Exactly how much was the frameset? Do you plan on selling the purple fork?

Oh yeah? Whats different on your build?
Tange head set Nitto Dynamic stem Nitto RB-021 bars Nitto Dynamic seat post Sugino RD2 crankset with 103BB MKS track pedals Dura-Ace cog and lockring Instead of the Soma Okami, I'm going for the Regal. They look almost identical, but the Okami is about half the price of the Regal. Do you know any of the major differences? Also, I'm using Mavic cxp-33's w/formula hubs (for now) and Conti gator skins. Pretty flippin close. The cranks and wheelset is coming off my current ride, but I'll upgrade those in the near future. I'll post pictures in a few weeks when its all done. |

Well, most importantly I'm building up a the new steel Langster. As far as parts go, I'm using all these as well:

Here is what it looked like when I had it. http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w...s/100_1862.jpg As for the Regal/Okami debate. I ran the Okami because it was cheaper. |

I guess the funniest part about this whole thing is most of the parts im using came of a steel langster. I got one when they first came out and traded it for a pinarello pista. I really liked the langster but thought the pinarello was a much better bike. I did not rip the guy off because I let him know the quality of the pinarello before trading him so dont get mad at me for that.
