I think the Eighthinch cogs have machined surfaces. Thus, it is probably a very good bet. I would go for it.
Stamped out cogs aren't so bad. Sometimes pretty decent. You're gonna have to inspect that stuff before buying though.

I have a set of their cranks, and have no issues. They don't seem like the kind of company to put out anything really cheap. If their cog is machined, it should be of good quality.

I have used Surly, Soma, EAI, Dura Ace, Miche, Eighth Inch, and even generic cheap stamped cogs. I've probably used others too, but can't remember. Honestly, I can't tell the difference. I usually just buy what's on sale somewhere, unless I'm trying to get my chainline to be exact for some reason...then I will buy based on thickness of the cog, but they quality of these cogs are all the same IMO.

I have used El Cheapo, Surly, and Dura-Ace. I stick to Dura-Ace now just cause its cheaper than a Surly cog and looks better than El Cheapo cog. I could not tell a difference in performance between any of them. Noise difference was negligible.
