NO!!!!!!! Return of Tron Boy!

Man, someone brought in the St. Paul Pioneer Press to the smoke room at work today, and I'm flipping through it.

There he is. On the front of the local news page. I guess there's a Sci-Fi convention going on, and he's out here for a costrume contest!!! Scary thing is there were a lot of people in the BG with worse costrumes, but they didn't look quite so disturbing.

I don't think they have the link up on their site yet, I'll see if I can find the old paper tomorrow when I go into and maybe get a link if anyone cares.

It did make feel a little sorry for him - he told the reporter how he'd been to a sci-fi con in Chicago and they published really bad reviews of his costrume the morning he was leaving, and he had to drive 8 hours all depressed and po'd, and how it made him feel like he was back to being an outcast back in 8th grade.

Hopefully he hasn't found this site yet...

I had to do a search and found this....

Tron Costume

I'm speechless....

HereNT 08-09-04 08:29 AM

Yup, that's him.

I was trying to find that article, and found this http://www.livejournal.com/users/jmaynard/?skip=20 - he's got a blog. Last post is that he's going to be in NYC and probably on the Howard Stern show :o

I guess it's a good gig for him...

cyclingshane73 08-09-04 08:43 AM

Check out his Blog and link to his website. He's a member of the NRA and US Practical Shooting Assoc. The guys a computer nut (look at his portrait) and has a pilots licence.

Actually people can make fun of this guy all they want, however I'm guessing he'd probably make must of us look a stupid academically speaking.

Hey whatever floats your boat. People make fun of my spandex and shaved legs at work all the time. :p

Hey, at least it's better than that peter pan guy. I still shake my head even seeing tron boy though....but tiger guy takes the cake for messed up.

jfmckenna 08-09-04 10:11 AM

I don't see how one could publish a bad review of that costume, I thought it was great. Apparently the great stage winner Mario Cipollini did too. But still how could you not make fun of the guy :) Hopefully he has a good sense of humor...

He went to a lot of work and has some talent, but I have to wounder why.

The pursuit of happiness means something different to everyone, so you have to give them credit for trying. Nonetheless, the Peter Pan guy scares me and makes me want to cry. Who's the tiger guy?

cyclingshane73 08-09-04 10:30 AM

This is just freaky!

The madness has begun once again.

naisme 08-09-04 09:49 PM

Okay, wtf?
How does this have anything to do with commuting to worK?
I suppose the reach is that you were at work where you found the article in the "smoke room." Ah I remember the days, smoking on the bike, and at work. Then I quit and I look like the "payroll program" (yeah, I actually read his page). Tron was one of my favorite movies, and a great video game back in the day. One of the first video game/movie tie-in. Actually I think chemicals really enhanced Tron. I recall Star Wars IV (the very first of the SW movies) and friends turning on for it.
What happened to the halcyon days of the late 70s? Now folks get dressed up like Chewie to go watch a movie, and stand in line around the block to do it. Not only that, but my first space heros are hawking web sites by inhaling helium.
OMG, I need a bike ride, just to get the visions of the past 30 years out of my head.
Where did we go wrong?

lucklust 08-09-04 10:21 PM

Tron boy's butt looks like the letter M

OneTinSloth 08-09-04 10:25 PM

see....he's not really a "boy." i think we should start refering to him as "Tron Man."

pitboss 08-10-04 04:43 AM

let us take this honesty to the true level:
tron dork

bentbaggerlen 08-10-04 05:03 AM

Just think if your lucky he will pull up in front of your house driving his mothers 1986 Buick, dinner at Pizza Hut and a movie at the local Megaplex.... Dutch treat.

Theres also a video of him on the page.
