Does anybody make a 650c fixed wheelset?
 

The reason I'm asking is that even though I have a 61cm mercier kilo frame, 28s are even a tough squeeze-if I inflate the front tire to it's max, it hit's the top of fork crossbar or whatever it's call.

Wouldn't a 650c track/fixed wheelset make better sense for urban commuting? It would wind up quicker and there would be more clearance for fat ass tires like 32s or 35?

Rather than screwing up the geometry of your bike with an inappropriate wheelset, why not just sell that bike on craigslist and buy the Mercier Kilo WT, which is actually designed for wider tires?

The difference between the cost of a new wheelset and your bike's resale value and the cost of a Kilo WT should be pretty minimal.

You'd also be lowering your bottom bracket and increasing your likelihood of striking a pedal in a corner pretty significantly. I wouldn't do it personally

it has sugino 75 too, as well as brakes.

edit: windsor timeline, completely forgot. comes with 28s/ can swap out for up to 42's =)

those aren't 75,s they're just RDs or whatever. nothing too special.

but the bottom bracket height change is iffy. +1 for just selling yours and getting a WT or that windsor (havent seen that before)

You can't fit a 28 on your 61cm Kilo??? I had 32s on my 53cm Kilo for a little while and they fit with no problems at all.

If Santa happens to drop any cash in my lap, I'm getting the Kilo WT and swapping the new parts from my Windsor over to it.

IRO has a 650c wheelset.

Your bike would look way out of proportion with a 61 with and 650 wheesl plus you have to change the gearing. Your best bet is get a different frame/fork is you want to run 32's. Maybe a cyclocross frame.

Or a Motobecane Jury frameset from BikeIsland.

Do people even make wide 650c tires? I don't think I've seen them wider than 28mm. 650b on the other hand...

the windsor was introduced a few days ago.

i don't think they're significantly better, or really better at all. all 130bcd single speed cranks are essentially the same (but messengers come in colors OMG)

not gonna lie, that windsor is pretty hot for 300
