it makes u a hipster for calling actual track racers posers, track racing is actually a sport..unlike some other things.....

Bad ass. Did you see the dude's tire came off along with the side of his suit? Maybe he couldn't get up because his thighs were too big. Also, It kind of worries me that in that rough of a crash he didn't come out of the straps. Granted, I run mine way looser than he was, but when I get hit by a car I like to think I'll pop loose and will be able to sail through the air without the bike attached.

i imagine those straps were just for added stiffness and he's using clipless pedals with the tension cranked up high.

They're straps for foot retention, not flip-flops. If you were racing at that level you would have your feet and shoes pretty securely attached.
