It's doable without bleach, you just need to stop before your tire shreds and you crash


Also, worth noting from the video you need to be a total hardass and do long skids downhill at high speed, but that's a given

Bobby Root did a few skids in San Francisco many years ago, but he did them with way more style:

When that video was posted in the tandem forums back in 2005, some old people were offended. I though it was hilarious. Sliding a tandem is easy enough, but even with a big 203mm disc up front, I couldn't do a stoppie like that on mine.

Wait a minute, physics just occurred to me. Tandem = inherently more weight on the front wheel, so easy to unweight back wheel and whip it around. Also didn't notice that he had massive disc brakes. But regardless, damn.

It's the stoppies that amaze me. There's a pivot point in front of you, and several feet of bike behind you. Sketchy.
