Flying through the air over traffic with a magical fixed gear

Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? Flying through the air over traffic with a magical fixed gear

Despite the obvious allowance for one way travel only, and how/when to let people queue up to ride, it seems like it would be super fun if one could ride fast enough. I wonder how the exhaust fumes would be above traffic, instead of in it?

Edit: I now see they do intend for two way travel.

Wouldn't the fact that not everyone's handlebars are the same height/width present a problem?

Anyone who's walked a rope line knows this would be so unstable, the bottom track might be fixed but the upper cable guide will flex and sway. Cable connected users hanging from safety harness over the rush hour traffic. Though emptying your water bottle into a sun roof would be a hoot.

Non cyclists generally hate cyclists, and I don't understand why. Maybe driving just makes a lot of people into hateful types, I really don't know.

Either way I've stopped caring about it. The status quo works well enough for me and drivers can sit and fume in their cars all they want for all the difference it makes to me

Meh, before I started riding I wasn't a fan of cyclists either. But I mean, I was ignorant and wasn't really aware that stupid cyclists make all cyclists look bad, but TBH as a driver, they made me nervous. Now I don't really care anymore and do try to cooperate with the drivers, who of course are all stupid.
