Legit. They were hunting gazelles or some shiz. It was quite a few years ago...I had fallen asleep watching TV and when I woke up, I was like "I know these two voices". It was so weird.

Tell him he installed a defective cog. Make him somebody else's problem.

By the way, isn't it more likely he cross-threaded the cog rather than just failed to tighten the lockring? Regardless, almost certainly user error.
