Exactly. Cars are the best thing to pass.

I ride to work every day, probably about a 7-8 mile ride each way. My coworkers have never ridiculed me for cycling, but, nonetheless they suggest that I drive a car.

Today was an exceptional day to live out this post. Coworker "A" has a Mitsubishi 3000 NePlusFartyMuffler, while coworker "B" has a Mustang GT. They never cease to hassle each other and try to race the lights on the route home (which is 90% of my return commute).

So I head out on my fix, barely catch the first light, and take off to try and best my commute P.R. I hear Mitsu-farty muffler and Mustang wheeling around about 500 yards back. Look behind and they are doing their thing. I keep cooking up to the next light, and both the guys pull up next to me. I give 'em a nod and beat them out of the trap because of my trackstandin' redlight attentiveness.

I proceed to do this for a few more lights and they are giving me a hard time, etc. The deal is made that the first person to a specified intersection gets a cup o' coffee (common gambling fodder at work). Well, we take off, I lose sight of them and resign myself to shelling out a few bucks, when I see in the distance BRAKE LIGHTS; my salvation.

I make it a point to cruise on past them at a leisurely pace, making myself visible whilst they sit in their metal boxes waiting for more people to get their cages out of the way so they can try and get home. I laugh to myself as I cross the intersection and think that an Americano - double with a little cream - would be nice. :rolleyes:

First time on the loop with thee gardin and I'm fukin passing these club racer types going uphill wile I'm sitting in my saddle and there standing up sprinting. This bike kicks ass and fuk I kick ass. Not only are they wearing full team jerseys but I'm wearing rolled up jeans and a t shirt. SINGLE SPEED IS BEAST.

I got owned by some little old lady on a cannondale hybrid this morning. It inspired the hell out of me. Not that i was racing her she was moving at a good clip and i was dawdling along, but it was neat to see an older woman out on the bike path hauling ass.
