Profile Airwing OS bars

Was thinking about picking up these bars and was just curious if anyone has ever used the Airwing before. I was looking into bars and wanted to get a set of Nitto or Syntace but they are 26 clamp and I run a stem with 31.8 and stumbled across the Profile Design Airwing OS, which has a 31.8 clamp surface. Can probably get them for $26 through my work, was just trying to get some feedback first. Thanks.

I have these and like them. They're fairly stiff. I would avoid the 26.0 model of the Profile Airwings... I had a set of those and it was like steering wet noodles. They had a scary amount of flex. And I only weigh 150 lbs.

Also used Syntace Stratos bars. They're also nice and stiff but I didn't like the contours as well--the horizontal part sweeps back and I didn't find it very comfortable.

They're 26 bucks. Even if you hate them throw them on craigslist and get all of your money back.

Yeah I went ahead and ordered them, we'll see how it goes.

I have the 26.0 version and I think they are pretty good bars, not great but good. The flat section of the bars are pretty narrow and Ive never used the most forward part of the bars, but all in all not the worst bar you could get.

I've got the 26.0 ones too, & I liked 'em. They're decent bars. The drop is on the shallow end, which is a little easier on the wrist for me. internal cable routing too.

I rode them on the bike below. I really enjoyed them. Very comfortable.

I've got them...and I really like them. I have the oversize, and there is definitely some flex in them, but considering how light they are I'm not surprised. I've never been scared with them though, and I abuse them pretty good. I think WELL worth the price.

hrm...i'm now debating over these vs cobrawing. I know theres a huge price jump but I love the flat side of the bars. Can't decide :(

Two different bars in my opinion. I wouldn't go with cobrawing personally because its cf. That just scares me for a bar. I know they use them for TT where there is some serious torque applied, but personally I just wouldn't feel comfortable on a carbon bar riding fixed through the city.

The flat is pretty cool though. I rode one with aeros for a while on my roadie a while back.

You can't hurt that bar.

Yes, the flat's are awesome. After the Airwing, I moved to the T2 Wing which had flats. Nice feeling.

I've been riding the 31.8 Airwings and cannot get over the dip in the bars. I've only been riding with them for a month and they drive me crazy, I change hand positions often when riding and still can't find a comfortable spot. Gotta go back to flat horns.

FixMe 02-03-10 03:48 PM

I got them in and set them up. Haven't gotten a chance to ride them yet due to the continual snow dumpings, but hopefully after this storm coming in this weekend there will be a break in the weather and the roads will clear up. I sat on my bike in my apartment, just to get the bar angle right and they seem pretty nice, so hopefully I have some luck with these. I'll get some pics up tonight of the newness.

I have them as well, and I love them.

The only thing that I don't like is how at the shoulders/curve of the bar there is a flat, almost rectangular, shape to it (for cables) at the back where you would/might rest your hands. Which creates a bit of a ridge on the bar. When wrapping my bars, I wrap it a little bit thicker around there and I put a short piece of cable there, to "round out" the shape of the bar, there.

FixMe 02-03-10 06:40 PM

Yeah, I wrapped a little thicker/closer to fill in the gaps the cable space makes. Lookin forward to riding these.
