sugino v miche
im was planning on get a set of sugino 75's because i have heard nothing but good about them. but for the price of miche primato advanced cranks and bottom bracket i might have to go that way. do you guys have any experience with the miches or recommendations, how do the stiffnesses very on each?
thanks |
You know you could search ... But here.
http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread...no-75-vs-Miche Oh don't forget Sugino 75 need a BB (109mm). How about the taper? ISO, I think, but I am NOT sure. |
Miche BB is ok, but the "adjustable" cups is really a design flaw afaic. I had to loctite mine in to stop the spindle from moving around.

i would get the matching 75 bb and i couldnt get the search to pull up that page

I used to have Miche cranks with matching BB and never had problems with the BB moving. They felt solid and worth their price. I personally can't compare them to the Sugino's though.

I have the Sugino 75's on my Bianchi Pista Concept, and they are definitely top quality very well finished, stiff and strong. Are they twice as good as the Miche? Probably not, and I would not spend what they cost to put on my cheap road FG with it's heavy frame. So, I guess it comes down to what you can afford and the quality of the rest of your bike, particularly the frame.

I found it with this. I should've made that clearer. Kinda damn, I know, but it's the first thing I usually do.

i have the miches. nice cranks. as i've never even SEEN 75's no real comment there. my bb had the same problem as erichsia's, but i wasnt that definitive with it. i would just make sure the spindles were tight and go ride. using a different bb now and no problems at all. i might change cranks just because i'm a terrible person and i want to buy something new for my new build and not use old parts. still remains to be seen though.

I've ridden both Sugino 75 and the Miche cranks. I've never had any issues with the Miche BB cups coming loose. The proper Sugino BB would probably be a tad smoother than the Miche if properly adjusted and greased. Both are good quality cranks.

Ribble or Wiggle usually have great prices on the Miche gear.
