Cutter Rear Spacing.... no, not that cutter... the crappy one

So I have a Schwinn Cutter that I've been slowly but surely modifying, and my latest planned modification is to switch out the wheelset to run a flip flop hub on the rear. I've seen conflicting reports online about the rear spacing... one review said it was 110mm, others say 120mm... anyone know for sure?

I'll measure it when I get home from work if nobody knows...

PS Anybody else got a Schwinn Cutter? I know they're heavy and have bottom of the barrel parts, and it wouldn't be my choice of bike now but at the time it was the only single speed bike in my price range that I could actually try out, and I liked the way it rode (coming from a department store mountain bike and a dumpster hybrid cruiser it was a huge improvement).

Looking at other Cutters with aftermarket wheels, I think it's a safe bet to be 120. And if it's really 110, the thing is made of Hi-Ten steel, bending the stays outwards .5 cm each will not hurt it. My brother's girlfriend has a Cutter, and there is no joke about how heavy that thing is, hahaha.

Cool man, thanks for the response. Yeah with the new wheels and components, hopefully I'll be able to get it down to the low 20's...

no not really

what wheels? if they're not open pros laced to a ultegra front and low flange dura ace rear, you'll probably still be around 25-26lbs

but cutting weight in the wheels is best. frame weight doesn't really matter, it's the same as gaining weight on your body. most important thing is fit and if you like the geometry

and i believe they're spaced 120. only things spaced 110 as far as i know are older njs frames and some sturmey archer 3 speed stuff.

Actually I went to my LBS on my lunch break and had it measured... came in at 110. They said they can space it out for me though, so it's no problem.

As far as weight, even if I stay at 25 lbs that's fine for me. It's light enough for me to easily carry with one hand, and I can get as fast as I need to on it. The new wheels are the Eighthinch Amelia's.

I had one it was 110, dunno about the 2010 cutters.
Loved the bike, purely designed as a single speed(free)
I had down to 23 with most of the parts replaced.

It's really not a bad bike at all, given the price and purpose. The Globe Roll feels just as heavy, and has an extra 300 on the price tag. (guesstimate, from the last time I saw either in a store).

Rear NJS spacing is 110x8mm.

The cutter's use the same spacing as BMX bikes and beach cruisers, 110x10mm.
