http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2799/...01dbb24a03.jpg Cykelmageren was definitely the most original stuff at the show. check out this brake lever http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4043/...12bd4cdab1.jpg and they have a series of hubs and handlebars with interchangeable inserts (they built the frame, headset, etc too) http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2695/...5acc1b5568.jpg http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4009/...3af8f3134d.jpg http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4029/...d81649e7ee.jpg http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4040/...3b61756967.jpg Geekhouse http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4028/...557396c9b7.jpg Independent Fabrications http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4064/...d62433808e.jpg http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2681/...a2b20ffa9a.jpg don't remember who made this :-/ http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2752/...e3d1d2d56e.jpg |

haha, that blue/yellow bike is my friend's bike. the purple/black one is for the shop manager at my lbs. |
I'm really into that red Richard Sachs...
|
Great pictures, i salivated a little.
|
I've seen that type of brake mount before..
EDIT: I meant the Keirin brakes. On that other are you just pulling the cable? That's sweet. |
Great pics. Did you happen to catch any of the seminars?
|
yeah the sachs won best track bike, it was so clean.
on the brake, yeah you literally pull the cable. they didn't have one mounted on a bike, much less one to ride, so i don't know how much force you can create, but it is a great outside-the-bike-box thought for something like NAHBS i unfortunately did not get to attend any of the seminars. i drove 3 hours each way and spent 5-6 hours there without any seminars... don't know if i had it in me without making it a 2 day trip. |
very very nice
|
didn't check out the bike show, but did check out the side events (trick jam, alley cat, party, etc). it was cool being at a house show and seeing everyone "internet popular" show up + all of the people that traveled here and riding in their own groups around the city.
|
the pull-on-the-cable brake is pretty neat! I would like to see the leverage improved though, perhaps by stiffening the cable/handle, and adding a fulcrum point, sorta like a...brake lever.

Woah. Good pictures.
None of the really nice Maietta that was built for the winner of the Get Better Gabe raffle, though. That's my fav... because it brought an injured friend closer to home. |

well it's more than impractical. if you want to raise or lower the saddle a little bit you wind up moving it fore or aft quite a bit. it just looks like a mishmash to me. but the fork is really nicely done - a very gentle rake.

which, since it's NAHBS, I guess is entirely possible. |
I am overwhelmed by this ******** much of bike porn.
