Armadillos and Maxxis Refuse are both pretty puncture resistant tires and both have pretty long life if you ride brakeless. Having ridden both, I prefer the Refuse because it is a much nicer ride and they aren't as much of a pain to mount. They also don't have the tacky feeling after they get wet like the Armadillos do.

Armadillos are great if you learn to inflate them properly- at least 100 lbs psi- then they perform more like a tire and less like a garden hose. And anything can be punctured, even kevlar. But that's just my opinion.
