I shift too often with my 10sp to go for dt shifters, although if I put them on my Jagwire bar-end adaptors I can have indexed shifting

yes just a rear brake, longer reach front is in the mail and i couldn't wait to ride =)

also in the mail is a tiagra front derailleur to go along with the other bar end shifter.

this bike will stay for a while until i find a nice frame i like (and can afford)

Awesome photo - I've seen a coyote hanging from a rope on an old oak tree, along a back road in Northern California. I assume such actions are supposed to scare off other coyotes - doubt it works.

Meanwhile, nice looking bike!

There were several catfish heads on the property too.

Someone on the 41 a while ago had a picture of his bike leaning against an enormous dead bull on the side of the road.

Man at least you're tall. I tried to do that on one of my bikes but babbybiek is too small and the light doesn't fit.

For whatever it's worth. I seem to ride geared more than anything else these days. There's no reason to feel like you're somehow committed to one particular bike.

You're right. For some reason, I just got it into my head that I was going to always ride FG/SS. I just can't think of a situation where I would rather have gears. I am never worried about how long it takes me to get around and I actually enjoy mashing up steep grades.

other than impressing high school boys, a fixed gear bike doesn't really have any benefits over a road bike

Except I find it fun. I find it more fun than freewheeled bikes. There.

It is nice to have some variety. I had times when I couldn't ride my road bike for a few months (damaged a wheel or something) and I only rode fixed. After a while I felt like I needed to ride something else, but that's just me, and why I now have a touring bike.

You dont have to go for a generic road bike set up. I had a ton of fun putting my touring bike together by building the wheels for fat tires, looking for shifters and derailers at swap meets, sifting through buckets of used chain rings and cranks at the co-op. It's heavy and slow and completely pieced together how I want it

yeah. it's nice to have variety. plus a fully built up sw8 fixay costs as much as a steel framed w/ modern components road bike.

I have about $800 into my blue bigbike. dura ace/ultegra 10sp drivetrain.

@solbros

on my NDS stay, you can see the mount... it ratchets/adjusts for angle so you can blind the traffic
