Ready to start doing my 26 mile commute on the bike tomorrow. Nothing like being short on money and gas to motivate me to HTFU and do this! It's about $4.40 per gallon here and I'm ready to take my turbo + awd gas guzzler off the streets.
What I'm planning on pulling out of my next paycheck
It isn't quite comfy yet. The drop is way too big and having those brake cables flailing around pisses me off.
What I'm planning on pulling out of my next paycheck
- Soma Highway 1 compact drops
- Tektro ergo brake levers
- New cables all around
- Comfy brown bar tape (hopefully Charge U-Bend)
- Dark brown Charge Spoon
It isn't quite comfy yet. The drop is way too big and having those brake cables flailing around pisses me off.

Not a fan of non-aero levers either, huh.
I'll be putting some Charge U-bend tape on my singlespeed soon; I've always thought that dark brown tape is one of the nicest colors of bar tape.
Is that internal cable routing? Neato.

Epic Schwinn: A Nitto Randonneur bar would look sweet on there. It's a comfy bar for the long haul.

Hmmmm... Looks like it would be comfy but aesthetically (which, as we all know, is superior to comfort) I'm not a big fan. Kind of looks like a nitto noodle.

The seat stays are integrated into the seat clamp? That's pretty interesting.
Have you hit it with some frame saver yet?

It's just a little surface rust. I had the stem out and the headtube looks clean and without rust damage.
"thermally bonded"
Raleigh doesn't like to say they used these
Kind of a double standard when people judge their integrity but probably wouldn't knock the same process on a Ti/Carbon lugged and bonded bike.

Fresh Garbage
I think the Technium was one of the successful bonded frames while a lot of the lugged carbon frames failed

Picked up my first bike with gears since the grip shifts of my childhood. Craigslist steal.
