How do you know my response wasn't a sarcastic response to BNB's sarcastic response?

OK, in all fairness to the naysayers, there are some cases when the hub flange is too close to the end of the treads on a fixed hub, such that a freewheel body will hit the outboard spokes. There was a case reported in a previous thread of this problem with a Dura Ace low flange track hub and a flip/flop fixed/fixed track wheel I recently puchased is like this. Hubs like the Harris/Formula are designed with sufficient clearance that a freewheel will work safely and properly.

I solved that by adding a bottom bracket cup ring as a spacer to my Formula Fixed/Fixed hub.

You can just see the reeded edge of the "spacer" on the left side of the wheel.

I've been running a freecog on the fixed side of a Formula hub for a while. I don't see what the big fuss is about.
Or is it something else you don't like about the wheel you bought?

Yes, I advised not to run a freewheel on a stepped thread hub. Yes, I believe its wrong. No, I would not do it. Do as you wish.
