The BMC TRACK MACHINE

Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Sometime last year, while riding my front wheel went sideways due to lack to traction. Half a second later I was eating asphalt pie. My specialized singlecross went tumbling pretty much like that video (at least 2 full turns). Got a nice bloody rash on right leg and a bruised hip that put me out of commission for a week.
Bike only got a small bar tape scuff.

How fast were you going? These ladies were going about 28-30+MPH (if I had to guess).

More like 35+ mph. They were sprinting, and can easily go that fast.
