New from st louis
Hi. I'm new to the fixie/ single speed thing. Actually I'm new to road bikes all together. I know nothing. I've been into bmxing for 6 years and have a fit hawk frame with a bunch of random parts; fit, tree, profile, odyssey.
Basically i was wondering what good are good frames to convert into fixies? From what I've already gathered a steel frame with horizontal dropouts? anything else? I'm poor. and fat. and 5'10, whats a good height for me? |
sooo,
I got this today. A friend who works at a bike shop gave it to me. I don't know anything about it. It's a complete piece of ****. But i plan on throwing it together anyway so i have something to ride and if i'm really into it I'll buy nicer parts. http://i1029.photobucket.com/albums/...rt/Photo10.jpg I don't even know if it uses 700c wheels. Is there a way i could figure it out without actually testing wheels on it. What should the chainstay length be? this **** it gonna be ghetto! Its only a 49cm  |
weird. looks modern with aero tubing and a straight blade fork, but it has horizontal dropouts instead of more usual vertical/track. Its threaded. And is that a gusset i see on the bottom?

It looks like one of those Wal-mart road frames. It should work till you get something properly sized, that is i would assume you do plan on trying to jump anything...
