xacd custom Ti?

So I came across this company in some random readings last night. They make custom Ti bikes crazy cheap. Like I heard numbers as low as $400. So I was just wondering what the opinion here was about them and or if anyone had ordered a frame and what the thoughts were on it.

Also as a side note seeing as I have been a little unclear on this, is oversized tube Ti gonna give me as stiff a ride as oversized tube Al but with more vibration dampening or is it gonna be more like an oversized steel tube frame?

don't know how Ti compares to alu or carbon. I have a Ti road bike, light as hell and very responsive, seems stiff too (though i don't think i'm tweaking my steel track frame or anything). I'd love a Ti track bike...

which is why i was looking into this same thing about a year ago. Their geo charts were crazy, led me to believe they just build everything titanium, including something that resembles a bike. maybe it was a different chinese Ti company I looked at though. I've also heard quality control is iffy, with spacing being off or chainstays not being level.

if you're willing to take a gamble you could get an awesome frame, or very easily get a dud.

Search the forum for XACD and see all the wonderful things people have said about these guys... :notamused:

couldnt find any negative posts... did you mean the SS forum? I just wonder, as I never knew the nature of things in the bike frame world until I learned more about companies like BD... So I wondered if XACD was like Kinesis (the manufacturer of many companies' frames)...

i mailed them a wile ago, they are not that cheap itīs still $650 for the frame....to mutch money to risk it, i would save up a little bit more and go to some local frame builder.
and the dropouts a ugly!!

XACD unfortunately has a pretty bad reputation in terms of quality of materials and "durability" of their final product. Your 650 bucks is much better spent elsewhere.

but no one on any forums says that all i have read are good reviews...

I think I found my next frame!

I'm going custom built titanium!

although these would lead to a more versatile frame...

I could build it as a FG, or as a fully geared road bike... disk brakes are a little unnecessary but I like this bike...
