Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Opinion?

I knew Action Village sold fixed gear bikes, but they were mostley in the $600 to $700 range. I decided to look today, and came upon this. https://www.actionvillage.com/800-597-0014 . Wonderd if you guys had an opinion on this bike, Being that its only $300, i was skeptical.

We've got one at the shop where I work. It's not terrible, but it is pretty damn heavy.

I've got one. Good choice for an inexpensive base to build from.

but for 50 bucks less you can get a Cachet Fixed Speed from Wal-Mart and build that bad boy up with the extra $50!

If you look at the ad for both of them you will find that the CAchet has urban style but the Draft Lite (100 calories per gallon) makes no such claim. Get the Cachet!!

That was only a little tongue in cheek, I'm actually considering the Cachet as a gag gift whereas the Draft Lite is an anchor and probably no better, it's still way better cause it isn't sold at or made for WalWorld
