That depends on how you define "road savy". Are you referring to geometry, ride quality, or components? Need more details.

I use a Cinelli track fork on my Cinelli road frame.

I find my track bike to be very road savy. My road bike however, is not very track savy. Strange, no?

Track bikes aint ment to go on roads man. Save it for the drome and ride free on the streets.

Yeah man combustion..............Ka ka ka ka ka BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM! Seriously now there is a big diference between fixed bikes like Surlys and real track bikes mostly geometry and the lack of brake mountings. Come on man riding a real track bike on the streets is not a very smart move.

Unless you are riding city streets. That is where a nimble, almost squirely track bike shines.
I would not want to ride a double century on it. But for short to medium runs around potholes, through traffick, pedestrians, rollerbladers, etc. a track bike can be great.

Agreed. Mine's great for just moving around the obstacles, not relying on the brakes of a fixed conversion. Faster than the conversions I've rode, too, even though it's a lower gear.

It's a lot easier to cary up the stairs of my apartment, too. And I can bring it in at work and have something pretty to look at while I'm there...

I ride a brakeless track bike on the street for a living, I wouldnt have it any other way
