fizik saddles?
Anybody ride them? Possibly buying one after work today.
FIZIK Pave' HP fi'zi:k Wing Flex Saddle Black Titanium is the model i'm looking at. |
theyareawesome!

They work for some people really well. I had an Arione for a couple of days that I didn't much care for. If you can find a demo saddle that would be your best bet. You could also probably sell it for close to its original price if you absolutely hate it.
|
I have 2 Aliante's on 2 road bikes, and they are the best saddles I've ever ridden. Absolutely no problems with soreness or numbness even on long rides.
|
I've been riding Ariones for years and love them. I've got one on both my road and track bikes.
As ADSR says, you should try before you buy. Most shops that carry the Fizik line have demo saddles. |
i have an arione cx and love it, most comfortable saddle ive ever rode
|
arione ftw!
|
yeah they're good. I personally prefer the Toupe over the Arione, but this is all personal preference.
|
They are a good brand. I have a different model Pave. Nothing wrong with it.

I tried a Pavé once. It was horrible to me.
So was the Gobi. Never tried an Aliante or Arione, I prefer Selle Italia. Although the OEM saddle on my road bike seems more comfortable than my Signo. Go figure. |
I just temporarily replaced my comfy broken in brooks B17 with a fizik arione I had lying around. Its surprisingly comfortable, about as nice as the brooks, feels more sporty. It actually has a lot of padding compared to most competitive saddles, and all in the right places. I carefully adjusted the saddle angle (just splurged and got a thomson stem, so happy haha) so the padding is right on my sit bones and I really love it, more than i expected.

Whats the differences between an Arione and an Antares?
I've been eyeballing them alot lately. |

The "wing flex" of the Arione isn't just marketing hype. The sides of the saddle are designed to flex and let the thighs come through freely. Regarding comfort, watch some of the pro bike racing this summer and you will see the majority of of them riding either Fizik Arione or Fizik Aliante saddles. And it's not just a sponsorship thing. Most racers (like regular cyclists) are very particular about their saddles and won't ride them if they are not comfortable. |

It probably weighs 2/3 as much, too. Plus there is no break-in period. Nor do you have to oil it. Has more color options than Brown, Light Brown, and Really Dark Brown :).

Selle Italia SLR!!
|
I think it all depends on you. I have a friend who uses a Arione and he loves it, but another friend said the Arione was very uncomfortable.

Just got back from a bumpy ride in Forest Hills Queens.
My Butt loves the Fizik Aliante and Carbon seatpost. Newer Fizik saddles also have the ICS accessory clip on system which lets you mount stuff like their cool n sleek underseat blinky! :thumb: http://gallery.roadbikereview.com/da...03/Albike.jpeg |
The Arione is by far more popular than the pave, but I have a pave and love it. (Managed to find one in bright yellow too!)
|
I love my Antares but I wished they lasted longer.
|
im looking for a fizik saddle also for my next part. hoping to only spend $100, less if possible.
|
Got a Aliante and I love it. I got it from a lbs for $100.

You can also find deals on Ariones on ebay. It is the only saddle I ride (both track and road). It is a bit longer of saddle and that may cause problems for some people, particularly women. The Aliante seems to work better for women.
