well, the wheelset LOOKS LIKE (I may be wrong!) the amelias from 1/8th inch.... 100.00 wheelset NEW with loose bearing hubs.. and if you are asking, then thats not something you want. point: those hubs suck.
I would try to get him down some personally. maybe 225.

Doesn't look too bad. The guy used ok parts to convert it nothing hacked or homemade. You'll need to buy a fixed cog and lockring since the guy has it set up as an ss.

If you want a fixed gear. Just add 25$ to go buy a complete fixed gear off bikesdirect. They come new and with decent part that would last you a while.

I despise the craigslist upsellers (although haven't we all at some point .) Anyhow, made a $225 offer. Not budging from that, thanks guys!

Well heres the response... (I hope this is not against the forum rules)
"Thanks for keeping me up to date. I totally understand the money situation.
Unfortunately, I'm not willing to go below the cost I have posted. That price barely covers the money and time I put into it already: 80 for the original bike, wheels where 100, cranks 55, tape 8, chain 12, 20 for the freewheel sprocket, 10 for the stem.
I could knock 20 off the price If I remove the freewheel, bringing it down to $255.
That's the best I can do... If you can't swing that, it's all good, and I wish you the best of luck in finding your ride."
Which totally sucks because its pretty hard to find conversions on cragislist now. Still debating what to do...

Ah, the CL hawks scooping all the best deals instantly and flipping them. does make it difficult to find deals eh?
Maybe you should try posting something yourself, like "Wanting To Buy: cheap fixed gear conversion"?

I'd keep looking and waiting. It's not your fault the seller put too much money into the bike.
Get up early on Saturdays and go garage sailing. This is where you'll get your best deals but it takes a lot of time going from sale to sale and looking at mostly x-mart rubbish before you find that great deal. I have gotten a Raleigh Gran Prix for $40 that just needed new tires and a tuneup. A Miyata 310, also for $40, that needed a bit more but was still a great deal. Peugeot mixte frame for $25 and a Gitane Tour de Luxe in the trash.
If you keep looking, you'll find the deals.

BIKESDIRECT.
This bike isn't really that great and it isn't particularly cool either. Cool isn't very important, but it's worth considering. Most bikes direct bikes are barely more expensive and quite a bit cooler and a bit better. So keeping that in mind they seem to win on all fronts. If this was some cool as hell old road frame that's been converted it might be worth it, but its a meh frame.

That bike is definitely not worth his asking price. I see that right before winter with motorcycles - "I'm just asking what I owe on it".
