New Hipster needs a SS

Now that I have New Chrome shoes, I need a SS.

What would it take in the way of $$ to make this a SS. I have the complete bike - the saddle?

Thanks for helping a New Hipster.

Seem to be an 83. I got the complete bike free from a guy in my neighborhood.
Had a mechanic check everything and it is all in good shape. (the saddle was ripped)

I'm doing a SS conversion on a road bike right now, actually.

You can thread a SS freewheel onto the rear wheel that (I presume) currently has a mulitspeed freewheel on it. Only problem you might run into is chainline.

Geared wheels are dished so that there's extra room to fit all those gears, so you're going to need to run the chain from the inner chainring in order to achieve a more or less straight chain line. Of course, some guys on here have told me that up to 7mm of crookedness is okay for SS.

And when you do take off that extra chainring, you are going to need SS chainring bolts or spacers to compensate for a loss of thickness.

should be plenty of peugeots in various build qualities. Top of the line was the PX-10, which had chromed dropouts. Many cheaper models also floating around. There are some issues to work out if the bike isn't complete, but they're quite good once you get it all together.
