New Hipster needs a SS
Now that I have New Chrome shoes, I need a SS.
What would it take in the way of $$ to make this a SS. I have the complete bike - the saddle?

nice frame....
well i guess you have the frame, fork, headset, stem, brake, and handlebars....
now you need a wheelset, seatpost, saddle, freewheel......

That is one of my favorite Peugeot frames. It's a good conversion frame.

BTW....are these frames hard to come by? i specifically really like the LOOKS of it, and hear good things about it....and since i saw one for my first time a week ago (i know im a newb) ive seen a number in a few different forums.
are people finding these on craigslist? ebay? are they expensive? what year is it? specific model?

I'm doing a SS conversion on a road bike right now, actually.
You can thread a SS freewheel onto the rear wheel that (I presume) currently has a mulitspeed freewheel on it. Only problem you might run into is chainline.
Geared wheels are dished so that there's extra room to fit all those gears, so you're going to need to run the chain from the inner chainring in order to achieve a more or less straight chain line. Of course, some guys on here have told me that up to 7mm of crookedness is okay for SS.
And when you do take off that extra chainring, you are going to need SS chainring bolts or spacers to compensate for a loss of thickness.
