After much consideration....

After much consideration i have decided to go fixed! Ive been riding a 16T freewheel for about a year and a half, and i think that im finally ready for the world of fixed riding.

My only concern is that the 16T freewheel is a little to much to where i live. There are a good amout of hill (big ones at that) and i think that a smaller fixed gear would be best, mabey a 14T or 15T.

Any suggestions?

If I am understanding you correctly, you are gonna want a 17t or 18t for lower gearing.

Try using this:

Well, for the cog you will actually want a bigger number to teeth. The more teeth, the easier it is to pedal really.

Fixed gear riding is different, but I find it to be very fun. You'll enjoy it!

You're doing it wrong; you want a BIGGER cog for hills......

You would want around a 17 to 19.... or even a 21

Just so you guys know, there is a character called an ellipsis. It's not just a bahzillion periods thrown together. It also indicates that something has been omitted, not that you are…pausing. The more you know.

in programming, it means code will continue on the next line.

In three dot journalism as popularized by the late Herb Caen, ... means a pause.

Ellipsis (plural ellipses; from the Greek: ἔλλειψις, élleipsis, "omission") is a mark or series of marks that usually indicate an intentional omission of a word in the original text. An ellipsis can also be used to indicate a pause in speech, an unfinished thought, or, at the end of a sentence, a trailing off into silence (aposiopesis) (apostrophe and elipsis mixed). When placed at the end of a sentence, the ellepsis can also inspire a feeling of melancholy longing. The ellipsis calls for a slight pause in speech.

The most common form of an ellipsis is a row of three periods or full stops (...) or pre-composed triple-dot glyph (…). The usage of the em dash (—) can overlap the usage of ellipsis.

The triple-dot punctuation mark is also called a suspension point, points of ellipsis, periods of ellipsis, or colloquially, dot-dot-dot.

In case of David Caruso, ellipses definitely mean...
a pause before the punchline!

In theory getting up the hill will be just as easy on a singlespeed as on a fixed gear, so why change your gearing if it's already fine? If you go with a lower gearing going downhill is only going to get more annoying. The lower your gearing the faster your legs will have to spin on the way down.
