Holy! Cheap IRO Hub set!
http://www.irocycle.com/iro36holefro...earhubset.aspx
Dirt cheap IRO hubs for only $40! 36 holes too, comes in silver or black, fixed/fixed or fixed/free. |
They've actually been running that deal for months now. When I saw it (sometime last year, I think), I jumped on it thinking it couldn't last. Great deal -- I can't believe they aren't cleared out yet.

Not a lot of people are willing to build their own wheels when you can get a complete wheelset for cheaper than building them yourself.

I bought three pairs. Sold them all as wheelsets. When they arrived on my side of the world, they were quite a bit more expensive, but still cheap enough to compete with a new pair of Miche Primato's which I think are the same quality but with a lot of added weight.
I strongly feel that Formula cartridge bearing hubs (which is what the iro's are) are more than you'll ever need on a track wheelset. Having said that, I own a phil/Veep set and a custom Mack hubbed rear wheel that I could never justify the cost of in terms other than bling (Phil) or lack of weight (Mack). |
