Okay, so I know there was already an extensive discussion about how dumb the cheap Suzue flipflops are, BUT...
I'm going to try to make it work for me anyway.

So I was overhauling the hub (which I just learned needs to be done every four months or something...) and then when I put it back together and test rode, the hub came apart mid-stride. YIKES!!

So it was suggested to me that I may have done one of two things: put the bearings back on the wrong sides of the hub (because there's two different sized bearings for the different sides), or I may have put the cones back on the wrong sides (same deal-they're different sizes).

SO. I was trying to figure out which side each set of stuff is supposed to go on. Who knows? I can't find listings anywhere for the specs of this sort for this hub.

Anyone have any ideas? Thanks...

hmmm is the hub damaged enough to where you cant put the pieces on? or is it all over the place?(where you cant find all the pieces)
if you have the pieces i would put it together (try to lable it and dont ride it) spin the front wheel with the bike upside down and if it does it again then take it apart and swich the pieces (from the lables) and try that
if it does it again then buy a new hub

how do you mean it came apart? the cones loosened and spread apart?

If you fit the balls to the cones and races, it is pretty obvious where they go. Hint: the larger balls go to the non drive side :)

yeah, it just all came apart...
but i think i've figured out the solution already, just by sheer process of elimination.

what happened was that somehow in the process before the original overhaul, i lost one of the smaller bearings; so, when i went to overhaul and saw this, i went to the diy bike shop around here and grabbed a replacement... but of course i didn't bring any others with me, so it was the wrong size.

i put it all back together, not even noticing that it was a different size (it's hard to tell with all that grease!... and i'm sometimes a bit spacey...).

when i rode it, it just popped the dust cap off and started pushing the cones off. weird, yes.

but, i found more bearings that are the right size, and i'm about to put it all back in there, so we'll see how it goes this time.

and i did manage to figure out which bearings go on which side (i had it figured out originally, but when i started questioning myself and asking at the LBS, they made me feel like a dumba** and i took them all out again... that's when i posted here), and which cones should line up with which side (i also had that right.)...

long story short, i think i've got it licked, but now it's time to go put it all back together again and see for sure. thanks folks!

I have a set of Suzues(two really). And I think it is 1/4 non drive and 3/16? drive side.
Mine works OK, but the first thing I did(before even lacing the wheel) was rebuild the hubs with good balls and grease.
