Serbaside 09-06-04 08:12 AM

what makes them so great?

dobber 09-06-04 09:29 AM

Nobody said they're great, but they are very purty

sohi 09-06-04 09:32 AM

actually they are great but look boring.

Fugazi Dave 09-06-04 11:28 AM

I'd ride 'em.

g_taco 09-06-04 11:34 AM

it is not associated with rolls royce is it?
i bet it got attention because of brand name and not because of how it looks or how it works or anything.

OneTinSloth 09-06-04 11:35 AM

those road hubs look pretty sweet.

trespasser 09-06-04 11:50 AM

Royce makes the best BB and hubs, and they are really expensive.
people say they are far better than campagnolo.
I have to agree that they look kind of boring, but they made high flange ones in the past and those looked really sweet.

techone 09-06-04 11:54 AM

I'd have to agree with trespasser about the BB's.
I had one second-hand. I'd love to get another, brand new this time.
It seems their favorite material is titanium.

Hi flange Royce hubs sounds GOOOOOD!

sohi 09-06-04 12:07 PM

do they still make HF track hubs? Id take them just because goldtec has such a
"excrement related" color. winds me up every time I see my rear wheel..grr

I don't think they do anymore.
one I've seen was road version, and looked really similar to campagnolo high flange hubs.
and yeah, I wish goldtec made those in silver or black...

For those who don't know about them, here's some link.

maybe we should ask in the bikeshops in london to put some pressure on goldtech. because
I think the hubs are excellent and the customer should be the one deciding what he gets in the end.
I would even take some bright colour just something that either fits general bike components
or can stand on its own as a nice contrast. not a dark filthy colour that makes every bike
look like some botched homemade job.

according to 'the knowledge' Royce's are supposed to outlast almost anything out there... even Phil
