Gear Ratio

i have a GR of 46/14 and i wanted to know if that's a good ratio? what would be a suitable GR if you wanna stop and skid more easier? Also for uphills and flat aswell?

what you have now is good for going fast on flat.

but if you want to stop and skid easier and have a lower/easier gear for uphills, you want a lower gear.... so something like 46/17 or 18 or 19.....the higher the kog, the easier the gear (faster startup, easier for stopping/skids/uphill.... but not as high top speed)....also the lower the chainring, the easier the gear. but replacing cogs is way more cost efficient.

thanks. im planning on getting a 17t cog from a buddy. Also im gonna try to cop a 48T chain ring when i get the money.

stick with ur 46t chain ring. that 17t is all you need and you will be a happy camper.
