had to share with the world! just called my LBS and ordered a new '09 Jamis Sputnik. :thumb: now i just have to wait for it to arrive - should be here by Friday. thanks to dookie for answering all my questions. just going to get it and start riding, then i'll make upgrades as needed. i definitely want to check out the bars as i may swap those our first thing - judging from the stock picks they may be a bit shallow, but we'll see. and i'm going to get some brake levers for the drops. i've been looking at the Tektro 200a and the Cane Creek SCR-5. not looking to spend a ton there. would love some Campy carbon levers, but... i already have some look keo pedals, so that's done. i'm planning on doing as much road riding as possible with it. just had to share. woohoo! thanks for all the help in my search.

I pulled the trigger on kilo tt pro today. :D hope you have a lot of fun with your bike and remember to post some pictures when you get it!

i'll definitely post pics once she arrives. squeegeesunny, enjoy the ride and do the same. damn, now i just have to wait. doh! i was looking at some pics of the stock '90 Sputnik and it looks like it comes with brake levers as original equipment. guess i won't need to buy them now. that'll make the wife happy. i think she's still recovering from my new mountain bike.

Congrats, and let us know how she rides! I tried to get one, but they're all out in my size. Was able to turn a friend on to a sweet deal on one, though!

No love for the '10 Sputnik ?

I think the '10 Sputnik is a sweet bike. Initially, I was all set to pick up a '10. The lbs asked if I was interested in a '10 and at first I was set on just getting the '10 but when he gave me the deal on a '09 I couldn't pass it up. Plus, it's black and I love black. :) I love the look of the straight blade fork and would like to pick up a Wound Up fork in the future. I saved more than enough to upgrade the fork and a crap load of other stuff.

Mind if I ask what you were able to get the Sputnik for? LBS is quoting me $689 on an '09 and I'm on the fence!
