just another cheap generic fixed gear

My sister has a Micargi beach cruiser thats still going strong. ( she had it for like 10 years). But this bike looks ridiculous unless its like $99.

Looks like a re-branded Torker U-District (except U-District has chromo frame).

Johhny B 06-13-10 02:28 PM

Gross

Johhny B 06-13-10 02:29 PM

It's hi-ten **** that.

rustybrown 06-13-10 04:42 PM

Basically everything I don't want in a bike, on a bike.

Wait, maybe that crankset...depending on the alloy.

arn't the wheels deep V's though? what's a better bike that's below 300 bucks?

tFUnK 06-14-10 04:25 AM

assuming it's properly assembled, i see nothing wrong with that bike. just know that it'll be a little on the heavy side, and it comes with zero street cred.

I'd watch out, when I click "Honor" under their About Us section it pops up a message that says "Have Not Any Information!". Sounds like these guys don't have any sense of honor, and therefore will give you no street cred.

ichitz 06-14-10 09:43 AM

mm.. me no likie

Yeah but having no honor makes you a badass!

Hmm, being a badass does give you street cred... assuming you ride that hi-ten steel frame brakeless it might be a good deal.

apopuri 06-15-10 10:23 AM

That, um looks terrible... I cringe thinking about what kind of aluminum can was used to make that bike

apopuri 06-15-10 10:25 AM

Much better question...what do you think of this bike? http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...tuff/fixie.jpg

What bike?

apopuri 06-15-10 09:19 PM

atta boy, haha

mestizoracer310 06-16-10 10:20 AM

I picked up my '09 SE Draft at Performance Bikes for under $250 w/ tax...

Edit: But that's because I already had my Weinmanns to make it into a fixie.
And I got it on a sale on top of a 10% off "gift card" they snail mailed me...

Edit #2: PS just looked on Performance's website and the Draft lite (which comes with a fixed/free flip flop rear wheel) is $199.99. From what I was told it's a few pounds lighter than the Draft...and low inventory. Hope you can pick it up now....

cc700 06-16-10 10:23 AM

SE draft makes me puke my mouth a little.
after seeing the Gios, i'm now covered in all sorts of bodily fluids.

mestizoracer310 06-16-10 10:27 AM

What's so bad about the SE Draft?

cc700 06-16-10 10:40 AM

hi-ten

mestizoracer310 06-16-10 10:46 AM

oh, ok. for my purpose it's ok. i don't do tricks or anything fancy. just commute. plus i don't have much money to spend on exotic frames, forks, or anything else for that matter...

Once you see "Hi-Ten" in any bike description that should raise A RED FLAG automatically!!!
