Pedals and straps
OK I'm riding with clipless pedals and while I enjoy them alot for riding, I'm beginning to be annoyed with the whole carrying a change of shoes to work business. I don't want toeclips so I was looking at the various straps and DX style platforms and they have me intrigued. What straps work the best on what pedals?

I should have clarified I am wondering about Holdfast, Blaq and similar straps....I've used Power grips but they only work on narrow pedals not platforms nor are they very comfortable. I would love to use a set of Veggie Burger pedals but I will settle for a set of Welgo DX clones

Odyssey pedals work great with HoldFast. I used it for about a month when I just started, they hold your feet pretty damn tight, work well with skate shoes and wider shoes. I prefer clips and straps over HoldFast though.

Currently usin BLAQ straps on these pedals (on a trial basis):

I find that platforms with straps are slightly harder to flip than track pedals. But straps are great if you find toe overlap to be bothersome, since theres no toeclip to hit yur tire, if you hit yur toe yu can quickly adjust yur foot position on the pedal. Still prefer Toeclips tho, will be putting these pedal strap combo on me ss scooter. |
