Can anyone in Philly cut a set of handlebars...?
 

i need an inch and half taken off on either side...In center city and can only travel as far as my bike can take me.

can someone just go to his house, cut his handlebars for him, install his tires, make him some food and then wipe his ass? things have been hard since his mom stopped taking care of everything for him.

This is true,things have been hard,ive had to get a job,BUY MY OWN STUFF and dont even get me started on whiping my own ass...Tell you what,just come down from BK and help me out? i wont pay for gas,i wont say thank you and ill make you do the work outside in the rain.

If you have a big dollar store near you they should sell hand sized pipe cutters - don't sweat the quality - it's a one time use. Cut down the bars, chuck it in the garbage. I've done it myself. Works like a charm.

I'd take the bar off the bike. Set the bar on a table when you measure so if the bar has sweep back you'll be good.

Measure from the edges of the serrated edge in the center outwards on both sides with a measuring tape like used for clothing measurement or a retractable tape but be sure to choose a spot to the inside of the end - like the 1 inch mark as your starting point. Measure out, mark the spot with tape and cut right against the inside tape line . That way you are guaranteed to still have even bars. It's kinda' fun and satisfying.

Every cyclist should own a tube cutter.
