Need a new cog. Websites please?

http://aebike.com/page.cfm?action=de...=30&SKU=FW7020 Only cheap cog i found so far looks like a pos though. I just type in 20 teeth cog and click google shopping is there any bike sites that have cogs for around 12-13 bucks?

Dude
Go to your local LBS and as you walk in hold your lower lip down with your two hands so they can see your new birthday tattoo. Ramble on a little bit about flying squirrels THEN ask them if they have any cogs for $12 to $13 and I am quite sure they will sell you one to see your exit.

That's a splined cog for internal geared hubs.

You don't want to cheap out on a cog, expect to pay more.

Yeah, don't buy crappy cogs/lockrings trying to save money. Its one of your most important parts. I know that Surly makes really nice 20t cogs.

$30.

And it isn't going to be cheap, you're most likely going to have it order it from a catalog if your shop doesn't sell too many beach cruisers.... the shop most likely is going to go like "huh?" and then after flipping through a shimano catalog go like "O... which size do you want? It says there's blah blah blah sizes available." I had to order one for a woman friend of mine along with the special grease a nexus hub requires.

I meant the one he posted is a splined cog, it's actually hard to find beach cruiser stuff in a shop...especially if the shop only deals with road bike/mtb/hybrid etc etc.

Back on topic, I have this cog in 17t, I like it a lot, I don't see a significant wear with it yet. If you plan to skid a lot, I suggest you to torque everything down really tight.

I would reccomend a Milwaukee Bike Co. cog but they only make them up to 18t.

Soma cogs are good quality and cheaper than Surly >>> http://www.universalcycles.com/shopp...s.php?id=17053

Make sure not to get any grease near the cog / threads or it might slip off when you are riding.

Or, you can grease them and properly tighten it. Not only will it not slip, it will also not stick when you actually want to get it off.

BTW, you want a CNCed cog, not a cheap stamped one.

Euro-Asia Imports has decent machined cogs up to 22T: http://www.euroasiaimports.com/produ...dproduct=15485
