question about this Dave Scott Centurion Ironman Expert
Hi , i am looking to buy this fixed gear and wondering if this is worth paying $230 looks like it used to be a
multi gear bike once because of the right brake. Can you guys tell me what i need to know before purchasing this bike, as you can tell, this will be my first fixed gear and dont have a clue about componets and what to look for. Thanks! the owner says: The bike is in excellent condition and comes with a brand new wheelset with about 10 miles of use. Newer Shimano 105 crankset and a beautiful new San Marco REGAL seat (check out the copper rivets). http://b.im.craigslist.org/JN/5d/Ios...pmuTbYlkKd.jpghttp://b.im.craigslist.org/Uu/0P/TWm...KGNlVcVQHC.jpg http://b.im.craigslist.org/OC/6J/Je6...FAihB7IWbg.jpg http://b.im.craigslist.org/JV/1f/4HK...5P04AG29TF.jpg |
Given that it doesn't have track ends and you can see the cable guides on the top tube, it's a geared bike frame.
Without knowing much about the components (e.g. is it a track hub on the rear) etc. , it's hard to say whether it's worth $230 USD. Somebody with better eyes than me can probably say if the frame is anything of note. Even in the absence of a remarkable frame, $230 strikes me as not unreasonable for a complete bike if you're not prepared to do a road conversion yourself. You'd be kicking that for a half decent wheel set anyway... |
