hmm yes i have tried that. thanks tho...

ok well i was just taking a shot in the dark, thought maybe someone might know of some crazy super deals on them on some super special hidden website or something lol....yah i dunno what i was thinking. but anywho, it seems the cheapest way to go is either:

A) weinmann dp18s
130 plus 30 shipping...

or

B) coasties (https://coasti.es)
140 plus 25 shipping

so 160 for weinmanns, 165 for coasties.
anyone have experience with the coasties? they say "deep V" rims....im assuming velocities, but hey dont necessarily say that. is "deep V" an actual model name from velocity or is that a throw around phrase?

anywho if coasties are velocity, i would prefer paying 5 dollars more for velocity over weinmanns.

but if anyone has any links for weinmann coaster brake wheelsets for cheaper than ive found then please let me know ;p

Deep V is a type of rim. It is the internal shape of the wall.

Just to reiterate... If it says "Deep V" but not "Velocity", then it is almost certainly not made by Velocity.

If you do buy a coaster wheel, get it home and open it up. Degrease it. The entire thing. Then pack it all back up with extreme pressure bearing grease (grey moly-lithium grease). You'll be happy.

Those velomine wheels have a shimano coaster. They react very well to loose balling. Literally you add a couple extra bearings and chuck the cages. Spins very nicely.

Check the bay area craigslist. There's always a post for deep v coaster brake wheelsets for sale in Oakland. I think it's like 130 if I can remember correctly.
