Looking for loudest "clicking" freewheel

I'm tired of having to tell some people to GTFO out of my way sometimes when riding. Are there any freewheels that make a loud "clicking" sound while coasting? I have a pretty standard shimano right now that is pretty quiet.

I don't get it...

He means he doesn't want to yell, "ON YOUR LEFT" so he wants a really loud freewheel.

The loudest freewheel I've ever ridden, was an ACS Claws. But, it started slipping, with less than 30 miles on it. Working some oil into it, so that it would work right seemed to quiet it down a bit. I now run a White Industries Eno, and it's somewhere between the volume of the Claws before and after the oiling. It has a pretty distinct tone to it, as well.

Nobody ever seems to have a problem hearing me coming, on the MTB trails.

The trials version of the White should be even louder, but I think it's only available in a pretty limited number of teeth.

too hip for a bell?

if only chris king made freewheels... Their road freehub sounds like a pack of angry bees when you coast.

chris king or hugi freehub. singlespeed spacer conversion kit. get the spacers in world champion colors why don't you

What happened to playing cards in the spokes?

Tomo_Ishi 07-20-10 06:13 AM

I heard Shimano freewheels are relatively quiet. So that's not what you want. I recommend degreasing the freewheel for maximum loudness. Fit some polycarbonate wheel dish thingies to amplify the sound.

Loudest freewheel. lol.

adriano 07-20-10 06:24 AM

get a bell.

paktinat 07-20-10 10:16 AM

white industries trials freewheel is the loudest I've heard.

ACS claws is pretty loud but cheaper; both in price and build quality

JesusBananas 07-20-10 11:17 AM

i just click my brake lever, if that makes sense. works pretty well.

I was gonna say AC Racing but damn that's loud, Shimano's are quiet so surprisingly are Dicta's, White industries are nearly as loud as AC racing and easier to find though much more expensive Damn that is just obnoxious

I hope that's not a product endorsement/recommendation ? It's basically a card in the spokes.
