Are you wheels 36h?
If so, this is perfect for you.

devin3294 07-23-10 07:21 PM

is that 40 for the pair? and also i was wondering if i should just cut my surly hubs out of my old wheels or just try to sell them

I counter all of your hubs with my Dura Ace hubs.

No holes ftw, it needs laser spokes. PEW PEW PEW.

xkillemallx16 07-23-10 07:33 PM

no probs. so your wheels are how many hole?

devin3294 07-23-10 07:39 PM

havent bought em yet, so they can be any spoke count

xkillemallx16 07-23-10 07:49 PM

if you havent bought them yet i suggest you check out velomine., i cant find any where the fronts are machined only

Squirrelli 07-23-10 07:52 PM

Good call, I'd rather buy a set from VeloMine. Are you going to be lacing them up yourself? If not, LBS will charge ~$1 a spoke and labour, rims are another ~$100. Buy a complete set.

devin3294 07-23-10 07:59 PM

na man lacin up meself as i work at a bike shop and dont really specialize in track/fixed gear products, my reason for asking you guys what you thought

Squirrelli 07-23-10 08:23 PM

What gauge spokes are you planning to use?

devin3294 07-23-10 08:35 PM

1.8mm since you could mean french gauge or american and they could be different

Squirrelli 07-23-10 08:37 PM

You could just say 15 (or is it 14) straight gauge...

Don't mind me, I'm just talking out of my donkey.

I'm going to be the voice of reason here..but formula hubs. Seriously, you're not going to be able to tell any real world diffrence between them and more expensive ones.

This is true. I'm completely satisfied with my Formula hubs.

Also, I recommend Velomine. I've bought two wheelsets from Ben and have been very satisfied.

devin3294 07-24-10 12:20 AM

you guys think i should just cut my surly hubs off my steamroller i have now and use them?

xkillemallx16 07-24-10 12:21 AM

cut? are you putting the veeps on the steamroller?

but surly hubs are good too. although i wouldnt take apart a complete wheelset... just pay for the hubs. in the end you'll be 40 dollars poorer but youll have two wheelsets instead of one.
