I'm just putting this out there...

Some of the images in your sigs are a bit too much. Seriously. They are freaking huge and every time you have something to say, no matter how useful and insightful, we have to see those same damned +400px images over and over. They actually freaking blink and move and sh*t for crissakes.

I'm not naming names because it's not a personal thing. I actually think these dudes are cool.

Yeah, I know I have the option to turn off sigs in the settings, but I like to see what people have to share in their sigs...most of them.

Happy Monday

If we all liked everything, the world wouldn't be a very interesting place.

True. But, I also believe that Silence is Consent. If no one says anything, I guess you think everyone is cool with it.

To put this into perspective, the 13 words, 1 comma, and 1 period that you just wrote effectively take up 730+ pixels of screen. One full page of my laptop's screen.

Get a bigger laptop?

I'll be changing my sig as soon as the pre-order is over.

I believe there are probably more important things to think about, let alone worry oneself over.

Maybe...if I didn't have to scroll so much through your ads.

Yeah, I'm on firefox with adblock and noscript etc... Blocking photobucket blocks half of the internet.

I know that there are ways around this. But, I'm approaching it directly.

The funny pics are funny the first time we see them...not every post. The ads are HUGE ads...every post.

I agree with you if that helps.

It makes browsing on my iPad especially cumbersome.

Changed mine, I knew mine was quite large but hey it made me laugh every time. This new sig makes me laugh way more though . Also, I was very disappointed that I could not fit the entire post, damn 500 character limit. Hope you enjoy Carleton!

Lol /\

I used to frequent another forum where every signature was huge. I never knew where the post stopped and the signature started!

Is there no policy about the size of sigs? If so, enforce it. If not, maybe one should be considered. On most of the forums I post to, they limit the height of sig pics to 100 pixels or so.

carleton - I'm honored that you started a thread about how my sig keeps you up at night but you could have been an adult and sent me a PM if you've got a problem with something I'm doing.

I think he posted it, because there is other people beyond you that had large sigs, mine was equally as big, but that besides the point. The point I'm trying to make is I finally clicked on your velospace links since this thread is all about sigs and all and just wanted to say the Madison looks sick up against that (boardwalk?). Anyway awesome spot you found there the colors and lines are outstanding.

My grandest apologies, good sir.

But even worse is the point-by-point quoted arguments in A&S. Oh man, those guys....

No offense Scrod but I agree with Carleton on this one. There are some ridiculously huge signatures in this forum now. The only thing that bugs me is the fact alot of us post multiple times per page so seeing the same thing over and over and especially when it takes up the entire screen of the laptop, just becomes a little frustrating.

Im not blaming anyone and would have just kept my mouth shut and delt with it if this thread would not have started but just had to chime in since the option presented itself. Hell, thats what the internet is for right???

I've seen a number of forums in which a poster's signature only appears once per page.

That'd be cool.

I would like to see a restriction on sig size. I like to see personalization as much as the next, but I also get frustrated with dancing cats, ads, and giant pics of bikes. Perhaps you could just post a link in your sigs if the images are too large. Then people who are interested would be able to check them out, but it wouldn't get in the way of conversation and forum flow.

No offense taken, Deshi. I just don't see the point in starting a thread instead of sending a PM. I get PMs from members here every single day. Should I instruct people who wish to converse with me to start new threads instead? It seems like that would creat a bigger much hassle and waste of space than my sig.

Does mine bother anyone? If so, I could always change to a smaller slimmer version...
