Idea for old KRYPTO locks!

Everyone decided on a spot in your city and lock your old lock to it. Be sure to glue the hole shut so no one comes and steels it with a pen!

...why?

How about on the door handles of the least messenger friendly building?

This is an amazing idea, especially, since Kryptonite just wants the keys. The old lock is yours to keep and bic it on to anything you want.

Where will the D.C. location be? I would recommend the White House fence, but that would go over like a Pinarello locked with an evolution 2000.

good idea. i think the spot should by the legs of city council members.

This is a great idea. I think the place should definately be meaningful politically. We should lock up downtown parking facilities in some manner, or create a chain across the busiest intersection in your area...

I posted a similar idea on the lock forum here: http://www.bikeforums.net/showpost.p...&postcount=585

Lets put 'em all on a bike like the picture.

Don't forget to lock the doors of the krypto building

Actually I believe Krypto's plan is to send out new crosspieces, You'll still need the "U"

Man, there is this one a-hole who ALWAYS parks his bike the wrong way across the bike rack at the train station (parallel to the rack instead of perpendicular) thus taking up the majority of the rack... I would love to put an old funky lock on this persons bike... g-dammn MTB'er. This has seriously been driving me nuts, as I have occasionally been left with no rack space because this bike takes up 4-5 possible bike spots. It's either that or just leave a nasty note on the bike.

he´s probably parallel parking for better security as many bike racks only allow for locking up the front wheel. I used to do the same thing when I used to work at the University in Manchester (UK). I did take the front wheel off though so that did reduce the size of the final package. I did get some abuse for it from other cyclists but there was no way I was going to leave a 1000 dollar MTB locked up only by the front wheel. Although I didnt pay full price as I bought the bike 2nd hand, that bike was worth a lot to me as a poor student and the bike would have lasted a matter of hours only locked by a quick release front wheel.

This whole Krypto ordeal has made the headlines in the news. Just turned on my computer and it was one of the top stories for the day. Said that Krypto was working on a new system and that some of the people would be refunded(depending on when you bought your lock).
