That blue is really nice. If I wasn't in love with my Madison, I'd be all over that shizznizz.

Thanks so much for the responses guys. Don't want to open a can of worms, but should I maybe wait til the aluminum frames come out in September?

Steel is real!

But seriously, if you want a bit of weight savings, fat welds, and a slightly more jarring ride along with shorter fatigue life, then there is no reason not to wait for the aluminum frames. The steel frames have been around for awhile and have been shown to withstand quite a beating.

Again, where did you find the Sram S300 for $85, also, you could save money on a headset by going with a Cane Creek S3 or similar.

Cheers

Deshi- whats your inseam/standover/frame size? Id say thats a 53cm?

When you ride the horns, do you feel stretched out?
I have a 33" inseam. The frame is a 55cm. I really cant say much on the bars, I use to like them alot but now that im getting into a little longer distance riding, I really dont like them anymore. Just not comfortable all around.

I'm surprised they waited until now to come out with a wide variety of colors. Some of those look great. When I got my KHS frame, I had narrowed it down to that and the dirty gold Pake at the time. If you can afford the Soma Rush though, I'd go that route. Little better steel (Tange Prestige), as long as you're cool with black or white. I've been thinking about getting one myself. Also keep in mind the Soma has tighter track geo while the Pake has more relaxed geo.

I can sort of agree with this. I was literally torn between a Rush and Pake. I did go with the Pake primarily because it cost me $200 less than the Rush, and that meant I'd be $200 less paranoid to lock it out wherever I went.

That, and of course, since we're talking about sweet fixays, I can't deny that the wider color choice cinched the deal for me.

I agree. IMO, the Soma Rush is everything the Kilo TT should be or not be:

1) Standard 27.2mm seatpost instead of the oddball 26.8mm for much better / cheaper choices
2) No silly rack / fender mounts, like anyone actually uses them
3) Water bottle mounts on downtube in case you plan to actually ride the bike more than a mile at a time
4) Built-in seat binder bolt lug adds a touch of class
5) Option for threadless or threaded fork
6) More serious track geo than Kilo TT in smaller sizes

The new forks won't fit the older pakes though. They're 1 1/8" now.

I agree--- although I wish it had a modern head tube--- I don't need a lugged fork on my welded frame. Also the rear "brake bridge" is ugly (should not be drilled-- IMHO). Otherwise my Rush is perfect.

What do you mean by "modern head tube?" Since you can buy the frame alone, can't you run pretty much any fork you want?
