Great looking bike, 48 years here. I just started riding a singlespeed last year. Funny, after a 40 mile ride people look at you real funny, as if how the heck can he do that on that thing? Why not...

[QUOTE=CardiacKid;11282847]...Are there any other members over 50, riding fixies?

Yeah, I'm 58 and it's become my main bike. I traverse over the same terrain I used to ride my roadbike and commuter on for the last few years. Turns out I could pull almost all my local climbs except 3 and I can switchback up those. In recognizing it may be a trend in some urban areas I ascribe to the belief that I'm a lifer in terms of riding fixed. Mine is a 1980s Fuji that is personalized. Could've got one cheaper from BD, but it's satisfying riding a bike w/comps and color scheme I did myself.

Been riding fixed about 2 years now.

This is going on my headstone. Along with: "Obviously, W. C. Fields never spent any time in Pittsburgh."

I turned 55 this past May. I bought an early b-day gift toward the end of Apr...a Soho-S. I've been riding it fixed since day one...spinning 70~80rpms 15~25 miles 3x a week, more when I don't have the time for a 1.5~3 hour multi-geared ride. Spinning for at least an hour is a great workout for me, but I need to go easy on my knees, not over do it. Lucky for me I live in a relatively flat area with smooth wide roads. Shopping for a track-specific bike.....I wanna hit the track. I'm hoping my knees will get better as I ease into it. So far so good.

I'm 62. While it's not my main bike, I've been riding my fixie for 17 months. And when I do, I AM 26 again!

51, and I've only been riding fixed for a couple of years ... but it's now my most frequent ride.

49 here. I've been riding my single speed with flip-flop hub for a couple of months now, but haven't tried the fixed gear side yet.

The mechanic at my shop is 68 and pretty much only rides fixed gear bikes.
