Can this wheel be saved?
This is the front wheel from the Kilo TT Pro that I got into an accident with recently (other thread here). It went straight into the side of a car at about 15 mph. Do you guys think it can be trued again? It has a noticable side to side wobble now. I need to get a new frame/fork but I'd like to keep everything else if I can.
Sorry about the crappy video quality.

that's not a bad wobble at all, surprised you didn't flat spot it.

Its hard to tell with that camera angle, but the only way to really find out is to try and true it. Make sure when its trued the spoke tension is right.

The rear wheel on my Aurora was wobbling about that much before I got a tune-up..and that's without any crash, just two years of hard riding and L.A. potholes.

Thanks guys. I'll try it and see what happens.
I just noticed that at the top of the image you can see where the frame was bent inwards and cut when the fork hit it. You can also see how much the bullhorns are turned from the angle of the wheel... I must have had a death grip on them.

HaHa, that's about the way the wheels looked on my Moto Messenger when I first got it. Anyway, it looks to me like it's an easy true-up job. I've fixed much worse than that. Still, if it were me I'd hold out for a good insurance settlement and get something much better. You should get a lot more money for the medical part of your loss. Do they give compensation for "pain and suffering" in Canada?

They do but only if the injury is "serious and permanent". I have a lawyer on retainer already.

Out fishing with Annie on his lap, a cigar in one hand and a ginger ale in the other, watching the sunset.

Be careful about anything you say on the forums, then, concerning this matter......the opposing insurance company will have lawyers or paralegals fishing in the various forums looking for similar stuff and try to figure out how to use it against you.

Yes, generally it is recommended that you do not discuss pending insurance cases online.
Basically, you posted a video of a front wheel which can clearly be repaired to new condition for a nominal fee at a bike shop.
This could be used against you if you try to claim the wheel as a total loss and get new replacement cost for it.
